NEIGHBORHOOD
THE STORY
This home had stalled and sat long enough to be pulled off the market entirely; 162 days of hoping a buyer would look through the dated furnishing to see the beautiful space beneath it. When it was time for it to go back on the market, the agent approached us to help bring the beauty to the surface. The plan worked, and this apartment went into contract 11 days after the re-launch.

The apartment was special from the beginning. It played the Green Goblin's mansion in the original Spider-Man, and it has the drama to match: a sweeping staircase, triple-height casement windows, a private roof deck looking out over a neighbor's line of stone griffins. But it had been shown in dark, masculine furniture that fought the architecture.

We started with who belonged here: a cultivated woman who lives out of town and comes into the city once a month for art shows, someone after something special, and we staged the whole triplex to her. The heavy pieces gave way to soft, creamy shades and curated furnishings that read as both classic and current, a linen coverlet pooling on the bedroom floor. We also added a formal dining area, a place to sit down and take in the room from a new vantage point.

Same apartment, same views. This time, the story matched the space.
