We were brought in to work on this home before the initial listing. We staged it strategically, looking to the neighborhood and the apartment’s past for inspiration. It sold in 11 days, proof that intentional staging drives real results.

The owners had bought this East Village apartment more than a decade ago from the photographer David LaChapelle, whose work turns the everyday into something technicolor and surreal. That became the brief: a home that feels like a small movie, grounded and livable but with a current of art running through it.

The space gave us plenty to work with: light on two sides, beamed ceilings and refinished oak parquet, a living room over St. Mark's Church, and the Empire State Building framed in the windows to the north. We staged it almost entirely with photography, pieces collected over years from fairs and flea markets and gifts from past clients, hung so every room read like its own frame.

In a neighborhood built on artists, we made the apartment look the part.
